Atharv’s Chronicle 02-06-24 Three Productive strategies!

Three Productive Strategies!

Hey friends,

Whenever I struggle with being consistent or productive, I try to implement the following strategy which I learnt from Ali Abdaal, I ask myself ‘how could I make this more fun?’ I try to approach the task (going to the gym, designing website, writing newsletter) etc in a spirit of play.

These are my 3 main strategies:

1. Do It With a Friend

Everything’s more fun when you add a social element to it. studying for exam, working out etc. The right friend will motivate you, and take your mind off from the most unpleasant bits of the task. during engineering for example, my friends and I would sit in a library, discuss and memorise the algorithms, and we’d make a game out of memorising facts for exams and internals. currently I have many accountable partners to keep me on track in my fitness journey, I workout with a friend, I share my daily update on whatsapp with my friends, yes its fun, yaay!

2. Track Your Progress

I have way more fun at the gym as I track my progress, and see the incremental gains. This is gamification, video games have level up bars and expiring points because they make any task fun. To make any task more fun try to track your progress. we can use the Seinfeld Strategy, compete with a friend, or challenge yourself to hit a target (Ex: Completing 5k steps/day, 4 workouts/week, Write 300 words everyday etc) I am bit old school and I use physical paper to track my daily progress. I also use my apple watch and started using this website to track my hobbies → Daily Habits

3. Be Sincere, Not Serious

Instead of treating life like a hustle to get to your final destination, think of it more like a musical performance, where the point is to enjoy it in the moment. Once you get into that mindset, it’s much easier to enjoy work. Like ‘damn, I actually get to sit here and write my article. Life is amazing.’

I hope this helps – have a great week! 😊

Quote of the week 💬

“Your story must reflect change over time. A story cannot simply be a series of remarkable events. You must start out as one version of yourself and end as something new.”

My Week in Pictures! 📸

In this section, I share my week in pictures, for those who prefer pictures over text.

I view this part as a combination of journaling and a visual diary of my personal experiences. My days often follow a repetitive pattern, yet each experience brings a unique perspective.

The “Feel Good factor after a workout is a priceless feeling!”

I always wanted to be this consistent and I love the fact that It doesn’t come easy!
