Choose Hard Things - Your Mind Will Thank You!
How to Strengthen the Mind!
Our mind always search for the least resistance path
because of the simple reason it wants to avoid the hard things for it and it’s wired to conserve energy.
whenever problem is given to the brain
it always look for the solution, not necessarily an easiest one
but when it encounters a easiest solution available – it never looks back and avoids spending energy to find another solution
Why? Because from the brain’s perspective, the best solution is the one that takes minimal effort.
since the brain is responsible for the fuelling the body’s actions as well – it prefers solutions that are easy on both mind and body.
Let’s Break That Down with Examples
Example 1: Simple Calculation
when I ask you what is the sum of 179+286?
you immediately think of using a calculator
but you can solve this without it as well
100+200=300
70+80 = 150
9+6 = 15
300+150+15 = 465
Example 2: Gaining Weight
Say you want to build muscle
you have two options
– Eat calorie-rich, protein-heavy meals, work out daily, and track your progress OR
– Just take the supplement your GYM bro suggested
what do you think your brain would usually draws towards?
One more example
say you have got all the time in the world and no urgency
and you want to go from point A to point B which is 2.5KMs
instead of choosing to go by walk
you choose to use transport because the other one needs energy dissipation
So even when there’s no rush, our brain defaults to ease
Why This Matters
so if we just go on feeding the easiest solutions to the brain, it never gets better
And today’s world is built to support this mindset.
all the discoveries and inventions have happened on earth to ease the life of human
there are easiest solution possible to almost all the solutions and are easily accessible to everyone as well
so our mind my default try to look for an easy solution for the already solved problem
and when it becomes a habit for the brain to search for an easy solution – even for a new problem, new challenges – brain immediately slips to its default mode of finding an easy solution and not an actual solution
This leads to a dangerous pattern:
Default mode = Easy answer → Missed growth
Yes, Not every problem needs a complex solution.
But our brain should be trained to *handle* complexity – not fear it.
Because brain will lose its ability to function at its best – when it never get a chance to work with its full potential.. how will it grow?
The Goal Isn’t Complexity. It’s Capacity.
We never trained our brain to handle complex things
so In order for the brain to work with its full power
we should stop choosing easiest solutions all the time
Sometimes, by choice, we must – do the harder thing.
need to put our brain to work
need to train it like how a soldier gets trained in battlefield (why a soldier is tough – because he was trained Through discomfort. Through effort. Through uncertainty.)
This is how we prepare the brain to perform at its true ability
Don’t suppress its actual power!
How to Strengthen Our Mental Muscle
– Seek New Experiences : Putting yourself into new experiences (so the brain learns the uncertainty life offers and it can’t always function with pre conceived ideology)
– Reject Easy Defaults: Don’t always choose the first easy solution. Pause. Think. Choose consciously. (which might be simple or complex)
– Solve different problems with your brain – sudoku, puzzles will help
– Talk to New People: New conversations stretch our thinking and expand perspective.
– Take on Challenges: Try something that scares you or feels out of reach. That’s where growth lies.
basically just try to break the patterns of mind picking the easy options every time
Ease is good. But if that’s your only option, you’re playing life on beginner mode.
The Bigger Picture
It’s true that all the inventions in the world are done to make the human life easier
But if we only consume what others created – when do we create something meaningful?
This is one of the biggest reasons I started my YouTube channel.
I was tired of only consuming. I wanted to contribute.
I wanted to create.
So, ask yourself:
If you just go on using the easiest solutions the world offers…
When will YOU create the solutions the world needs?
Our contribution should also be there right?
give a thought about it
Hope this resonated with you! See you next week!
Quote of the week 💬
“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.”

Question to Ask? 📝
What is one area of your life where you’re always choosing ease over growth?
And what would change if you did the harder thing instead?
Book/Blog I am reading currently: 📚
Lately, I started reading newsletters so much that I am not getting time to read a physical book.
and I am also introduced to this new app called – Deepstash – just wonderful – quick – simple and thought provoking insights – what If I tell you, you can finish a book in 10 mins – give it a try!
The Content I created! 📸
In this section, I share my week in pictures, for those who prefer pictures over text.
I view this part as a combination of journaling and a visual diary of my personal experiences. My days often follow a repetitive pattern, yet each experience brings a unique perspective.
